The scene
Radio Room · Open rehearsalThe cultural programme was meant to open with a brief introduction, but the recording begins with a strange silence and applause that comes too soon. One of three people trimmed the beginning and sent their copy to the studio.
The three copies used different profiles. All retained the same playback speed. The applause did not move within the audio: the point where playback began changed.
What we know for certain
One of these people sent their own trimmed copy. They could only use their assigned profile. There were no other cuts, speed changes, additions or shared accounts. Timestamps are exact and measured from the beginning of each file.
The three accounts
Oriol Roca
Sound editor«My profile trimmed very little.»
Paula Rius
Producer«I used my usual working copy.»
Quim Sala
Host«My profile removed a longer introduction.»
Examine the evidence
0 of 5 openedOpening these five clues does not cost points.
01The original file
The first applause begins exactly 12 seconds into the original file. There is no earlier applause.
02The broadcast copy
In the copy received by the studio, that same applause begins exactly 5 seconds into the file. Everything afterwards matches the original.
03The three profiles
Oriol’s profile removes the first 3 seconds; Paula’s the first 7; Quim’s the first 9.
04Account permissions
Each person was only authorised to export with their own profile. The software does not allow that duration to be changed manually.
05The delivery
The broadcast file was a direct export from one of those profiles. It was not edited after sending, and no silence was added at the beginning.
