The chain uses five tiles joined by matching numbers. Its ends and the first tile’s orientation are fixed, so you can reconstruct the rest.
What we know for certain
One of these people supplied their own reserved tile as the chain’s third piece. All five tiles were used once each and could be turned around. Each join requires equal numbers. There were no extra tiles or changes of ownership.

01The five pieces
The complete set is 1–2, 2–4, 4–3, 3–1 and 1–5. Each pair describes a different physical tile.
02The chain’s ends
The chain begins at 1 and ends at 5. It must use every tile without branching.
03The initial photograph
The first tile was placed from 1 to 2. It was not changed after being photographed.
04The middle piece
The exhibition tile was exactly the third piece, counting from the starting end 1. This does not mean the third join.
05Verified ownership
Zoe owns 2–4; Arnau, 4–3; Bela, 3–1. The other two tiles belong to the workshop and are not the reserved one.
