Bookbinding Workshop · Cutting tableA reserved strip of paper was found with a hole punched in it. Three people worked with numbered strips; the photograph shows only the upper cell at the cut.
All the strips were folded identically, and the hole passed through two layers. You must recover that cell’s original position before the fold.
What we know for certain
One of these people punched their own strip once, without help. It had eight equal cells numbered consecutively. It was not rotated before folding and received no other holes. The observations are reliable.

01The numbered strips
The original sequences are Eloísa 1–8, Ferran 2–9 and Gala 3–10, from left to right without gaps. Their numbers overlap.
02The fold
The right half folds over the left. The last cell lies over the first, the second-last over the second, and so on.
03The cut position
The third pair was punched, counting from the left end of the folded strip, whose lower half stays in place.
04The upper cell
The punched upper cell carried a legible 7. The lower one is hidden in the photograph.
05The two layers
The upper and lower holes came from that one cut. No extra strip was added and no halves were exchanged.
