Visitor Centre · Fountain trailThe walking group received a photograph of the garden plan in a message. They followed the arrow drawn on the photograph and ended up at the storeroom instead of the fountain.
Someone photographed the plan from one of its sides and added an arrow pointing upwards in the image. A corner mark reveals who stood on that side.
What we know for certain
One of these three people took and sent the photograph from their assigned position, without moving or rotating the phone afterwards. The camera pointed at the plan, with its farthest part appearing at the top of the image. Adding the arrow was the only edit: the photograph was not rotated, reflected or cropped.

01The original plan
The frame has one star, at its northwest corner. On the plan, the fountain is north and the storeroom south.
02The received photograph
The star appears at the photograph’s bottom-right corner. The added arrow points vertically upwards in that image.
03The positions
Hugo stayed south, Dora north and Nil west throughout the photograph. Nobody took it from a corner.
04The verified orientation
From the south, north is at the top of the photograph and west on the left. From the north, the reverse is true. From the west, east is at the top and north on the left.
05The message
The received photograph is the original camera file with the arrow overlaid, without rotation. It was not flipped when printed or displayed.
